BRHS Varsity Football Interview: Cody Kawack and Isaac Heaven

Cody Kawack and Isaac Heaven are both seniors here at Braden River High. They are involved in varsity football, and Isaac is additionally a part of our varsity basketball team. Their head coach, Curt Bradley, recommended these 2 hardworking players to participate in an interview about this season.
What grade are you in?
Cody: “Senior.”
Isaac: “Senior.”
Do you have a favorite subject in school?
Cody: “Probably Math.”
Isaac: “Definitely History.”
When did you start playing football?
Cody: “Ever since I was 5-years-old.”
Isaac: “I actually just started football this year, but I’ve played basketball for a while.”
What made you interested in starting to play football?
Cody: “I would watch the NFL when I was younger, and I got inspired to play the sport myself.”
Isaac: “I played football when I was younger from watching sports but took a break and started back again this year.”
What do you think your best skill is?
Cody: “Catching - I've got the best hands on the team.”
Isaac: “I’m not really sure, but I probably have to say defense or coverage.”
What is something you would like to improve?
Cody: “My strength - I want to get stronger.”
What are some goals for this season?
Cody: “Just winning districts, you know.”
Isaac: “Hopefully play in the playoffs.”
What are some goals in your overall career?
Cody: “I would like to become a head coach somewhere and get into a good college hopefully.”
Isaac: “I would like to get a good offer [from a college] honestly.”
How do you prepare for games?
Cody: “Music or just start locking in.”
Isaac: “All day I’m just focused, thinking about what I’m gonna be doing.”
What has been your proudest moment in football?
Cody: “I would say my 3 touchdowns against Booker High School last year.”
Isaac: “I'm really proud of my very first interception this year.”
Cody: “You mean your only interception?”
Lastly, what's a piece of advice you could give to our readers?
Cody: “Don’t quit because you never know what could happen in life.”
Isaac: “Don’t be a follower - be a leader.”
